Louet Euroflax Yarns
About Euroflax Linen Yarn Our long line linen is made out of flax-fiber, which is wet-spun. Flax is a vegetable product. It is called "long line" because it grows up to a yard (meter) long. When it is standing in the field, it is a beautiful sight - a field full of bright blue flowers, waving in the wind. At harvest time the flax is cut and laid to dry. The linen fiber is in the long stems.
Since crops vary from year to year, so does the quality of flax vary, even the wet-spun. To get a consistent quality, the factory will blend a variety of flax-bales. The factory where our yarn is spun has been in operation for several generations. They have developed a way of splitting the fibers very fine, and double-boiling the yarn to be able to give us a really soft and exceptional quality. Within the last year we have also added our own steam processing equipment to ensure our yarn is of maximum softness.
Euroflax yarn has been used by hand-knitters for more than 15 years in North America. We at Louet Sales have been carrying this wonderful yarn for more than 8 years. We have recently developed new and exciting yarns in this line. We have also developed and continue to develop patterns for this yarn in all weights.
Linen sweaters feel cool in the summer, due to the yarn's breathing capability. They are wonderful to wear and are machine washable. With wearing and washing, linen sweaters made out of our Euroflax yarn will become very soft, with a beautiful, lustrous silky effect. After you have made one sweater out of Euroflax, you will definitely want to make another one.

Tips for Knitting with Euroflax Linen
- Most importantly, you must wash and dry all samples before measuring gauge. The knitted fabric relaxes after the first time it has been washed.
- Due to the nature of this yarn, it is not suitable for standard ribbing, on either bottom borders or neckbands.
- Knit-in hems, rolled borders and garter stitch borders all work wonderfully with this yarn.
- This yarn is more suitable for pattern knitting than for plain knits. Small areas of plain knitting are fine, though.
- Please pay special attention to the recommended needle size given for each yarn. Larger needles should be used only for lacy patterns.
